Native gardens at Weekapaug Inn extend into the parking areas, and visitors to the Inn enjoy naturalist-guided walks and bird sightings. This client appreciated the beauty and benefit of a native buffer planting (required by a local ordinance) and embraced a proposal to expand the native palette into other areas of the landscape. The landscape design received an Honor Award from the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. Locally sourced stone and crushed shell parking areas appeal to the local character of the setting. Architect: Arris Design Inc. and George Penniman Architects.
